questions.

does it work without my phone?

yes. museo holds up to 3 hours of audio on the ring itself, so you can leave the phone at home and still capture everything. it syncs the next time you’re in range.

iOS and android?

iOS only. for the development path of a small team, it was much more straightforward for us to optimize for iOS first.

is it always listening?

no. the mic only is on when you start a muse. a minimalist white or amber light on the ring is on for different recording modes, visible to you and to anyone you’re with.

is there a subscription?

as of now, no.
but, we are exploring a pay-as-you-go model or subscription for power users, who constantly use museo to interface with AI + agents.

museo is an early look at what computing might look like 5-10 years from now, and we wanted to avoid locking in our early users into a subscription for as long as possible.

it’s also why we decided to make the first drops of museo open source, despite it not being the best choice for our business margins.

when we do explore subscriptions with museo, there will always be a free tier with access to all the essentials (to-dos, notes, lists, on-device transcription, music control, questions & search, etc.)

how does it relate to museum?

museo can be used with museum, as a special way to create memories without your phone.

when does it ship?
