4ff.
4ff feels like the last company i’ll ever build.
i hope it is.
i wanted 4ff products to feel different.
i wanted 4ff to be different.
so i took a different approach with it than any company i’ve started.
one that is oddly simple.
4ff is not a mission statement type of company.
mission statements are where companies write their ideals, but never fulfill them.
it’s a company centered around an operating philosophy.
the operating philosophy isn’t something revolutionary.
it’s just simple, and different.
and for some reason, it has brought life to new types of products ever since i started it.
step 1.
where i go and build new experiences and ideas. with very little external noise.
isolated. usually in a foreign country, far from home.
where i don’t speak the language.
i spend time building an early version.
one that i feel is going to add human value to my life.
and to the lives of my friends, family, and people i care about.
i build with them in mind, constantly.
step 2.
then i come back to society.
i share it with friends.
get them to yap.
share their thoughts.
have them fully experience the product.
and help me understand if it fulfills any part of why i started building it.
if it does, great. we’ll move on to step 3.
if it doesn’t, off to the graveyard.
step 3.
where i make the product a reality.
this will be where an early version of the product is shipped or shared to people who care about 4ff.
people i don’t know, but those who believe in 4ff and what i'm building.
i am confident this group of people will grow.
i have no idea where this company will take me. and you.
but one thing i do know: i will invest my all into 4ff.
i already have been.
and it’s never felt so natural to put my entire being into a company before.
